Privacy Policy (Draft)

This privacy policy describes how My Quote PDX, a Portland metro insurance education and referral website, handles information.

1. About This Site

My Quote PDX is an insurance education and referral website serving Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Gresham, and nearby Portland metro communities. The agent contact page offers website and phone buttons only. Those buttons do not save lead or contact data on My Quote PDX, and information you supply on the external Farmers website is handled there. Historical private inquiry records, where they exist, remain restricted. We do not sell or trade your information, and My Quote PDX does not bind coverage.

2. Permission, Consent, and Routing

Using a contact button does not enroll you or give anyone permission to contact you. Optional measurement of button clicks is recorded only if you allow it and never includes your phone number, email, or answers.

Public contact buttons take you to the agent's official Farmers page or open your phone's dialer. They do not create an inquiry or trigger agency-system delivery. Any retained private inquiry workflow requires its own explicit permission and separate delivery safeguards. My Quote PDX does not provide carrier rates, individual advice, or policy binding.

3. Private Records and No Resale

The current public referral experience does not collect new contact requests. Existing private intake records remain restricted to authorized owners and, where assigned, that agency's authorized staff. We do not sell those inquiries or distribute them to multiple agencies.

We do not use your information to create advertising audiences or for cross-agency remarketing. Any future transfer requires transparent handling and appropriate consumer permission.

4. Anonymous Journey Analytics

Our optional first-party journey measurement requires your explicit opt-in. We do not add Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising pixels or remarketing audiences. The hosting platform may supply its own site-analytics script; its automatic page-view behavior and relationship to these consent controls still require verification before this draft can be approved.

If you opt in, we record safe page identifiers, recognized broad referral or campaign-source categories, and which agent's website or phone button you click. The current public pages do not send arbitrary campaign names or query values. The private dashboard reports aggregate views and clicks, not confirmed quotes or connected calls. Retained private intake workflows may also record coarse milestones. This optional public-site measurement does not record:

• Keystrokes, mouse movements, or session recordings
• Your name, email, or phone number
• Your specific coverage answers or limits
• Any free-text input

A measurement session is considered inactive after 30 minutes. Browsing away is not an unfinished quote: there is no public quote form here. Reports cover at most 90 days and exclude expired sessions.

The owner-approved policy is to retain anonymous sessions for 90 days from creation, then remove expired sessions and their events daily. The current implementation starts a cleanup timer when the API runs in production and retries failed runs; automatic cleanup is disabled in development. A timer cannot guarantee daily removal while the production service is stopped or scaled to zero. A traffic-independent production schedule, actual deletion timing, and handling in backups and restores have not been verified. Expired database records may therefore remain longer than the reporting window. Cleanup is designed to clear measurement links without deleting inquiries, contact consent, quote reservations, owner records or audit history. No cleanup or deletion schedule was activated by this preview update.

This policy remains a draft pending operator and privacy review; it does not claim legal approval or a verified deletion guarantee. You can manage your preferences or delete your active anonymous session using the controls above. GPC or DNT automatically blocks our optional journey measurement and its consent prompt.

5. Data Retention

Conversation-worksheet choices stay in the current page's memory. They are not stored or sent to our analytics or an agent. Printing uses your browser's print function. Gather sensitive details separately and share them only through your chosen agent's agreed contact process.

Anonymous measurement reports and session records follow the handling described above. Historical private inquiry records, where they exist, remain restricted to authorized owners and assigned agency staff; we do not promise automatic purging of those legacy records. New referral clicks do not create contact records on My Quote PDX.

6. Owner Portal

Authentication to the owner portal is managed via Clerk. Data associated with owner accounts is subject to the security provisions of that service. You can learn more about the project.
